YOGA

Yoga is a journey to self, to discover the truth of who we truly are, allowing us to move more in to the direction of embodying peace, love, joy, unity, and personal fulfillment. In Sanskrit, yoga means union: to unite body, mind, and soul. This state unified self allows one to experience profound states of bliss, joy, and inner radiance. The breath is the most powerful tool that allows us to gain mastery over our mind and body, therefore gaining greater access to our true self. The truth of who you are is eternal, and yoga allows us to remember the limitless and timeless self that was never born and never dies.

YOGA

Yoga is a process, it is something we do, it is how we engage with the world. In Sanskrit, yoga means union, to unite the individual with the divine consciousness. It means there is no separation between mind and body. This state of oneness means living in freedom, health, and harmony. We practice yoga as a means to master our breath, and in effect, master our lives.

Congratulations on taking your first step!

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” – Lao Tzu

This first step will lead you on the evolutionary journey of yoga, which brings about transformation, transcendence and evolution of self. The path of yoga provides us with an incredible opportunity to go inward; to gain clarity on how we can break free from patterns that may not support our evolution, and allow us to create new ones that lead us to experience a life that is more joyous, vibrant, abundant, and purposeful.

In the West the main focus continues to be on the yogic postures, the asanas. In reality, this is only a very small part of the practice of yoga. The most important aspect of yoga is the breath. The breath, prana, is the life-force that facilitates our evolution and serves as a bridge between the body and the mind and allows us to access a unified balanced state. A balanced human being is happy, healthy, peaceful, and feels purposeful.

The breath energizes the physical body and offers many benefits including a stronger immune response, increased mental clarity, balanced mood, and an increased sense of well-being. The practice of yoga allows us the opportunity to gain mastery of the breath, a process of detoxification where we inhale the rejuvenating life-force and exhale the physical, mental and emotional wastes.

Yoga is a powerful practice of physical postures and breathing practices, and when creatively and intelligently sequenced, allows one to experience deep transformation within and without. Yoga is for all and it is never too late to begin the journey of yoga.

Namaste,
Natasja
